Hit list for the final day of Frieze London and Frieze Masters
Last chance to catch Frieze Projects at Frieze London, which this year engage ideas of community, boundaries and identity through commissions by 11 artists from eight countries. Step into Georgina Starr's Androgynous Egg, a puppetry performance that will be taking place at P5 (1pm, 2pm, 4pm and 5pm). Over at P7 Kiluanji Kia Henda's award-winning installation, Under the Silent Eye of Lenin, will continue to unfold throughout the day. Taking the cult of Marxism-Leninism after independence in Angola as its starting point, the installation investigates the science fiction narratives used by Cold War superpowers. Meanwhile, SPIT! will be tackling issues of sexual and gender oppression in their manifesto, which they will be performing at P6 at 2.30pm and 5.30pm, and Donna Kukama will continue to present you with her medicinal plants upon booking at P1.
The day of talks at Frieze London begins with panel discsusion between artists Ed Fornieles and Constant Dullaart and writer Angela Nagle (writer, Ireland). Titled 'Asocial Media' the discussion will address how we can productively engage with fake news, Facebook and troll culture. Then at 4.30pm, Nástio Mosquito and Mx Justin Vivian Bond perform their Singing Lecture. After the talks, swing by Allied Editions, where leading non-profits raise funds with affordable artists’ editions, some made exclusively for the fair: a perfect keepsake from Frieze Week.
Meanwhile, the Reading Room is hosting events with LEAP, the bilingual art magazine of contemporary China, at 12.30pm, followed by a reading of Regina José Galindo’s first bilingual publication of her poetry at 3.30pm, hosted by Proyectos Ultravioleta.
Over at Frieze Masters, join Alfredo Jaar (artist), Yasufumi Nakamori (Minneapolis Institute of Art) and Mark Sealey (Autograph ABP) for a discussion on ‘Art & Politics’, focusing on the fair's Spotlight section. Then, pop for a drink at the Arts Club bar.
